Memory of Water Glass Ring

Jewelry, Eyewear and Watch Design Memory of Water Glass Ring by Lucy Yip Inspired by water's fluid form and glass's translucent qualities, Memory of Water is an experimental piece of jewelry and work of art that explores the concept of value, and the idea of an intricate representation without the use of conventional precious metal and gems. It mimics the shape of water captured in a split second, allowing it to be fluid yet lucid, brittle yet viscous. The piece was made with hand-pulled canes from molten borosilicate glass. The glass was then formed around a heated mandrel and post-processed with a combination of cold-working and lamp-working.
